The subject matter that we deal with is subtle and against tradition and the mainstream. It will take some time to properly understand what we are proposing. Please begin with Start here to understand the basic proposals about thought.
History
The Thought Knowledge Perception Institute (TKPI) was founded in September, 2007 by Matthew Capowski. TKPI is a gathering place and platform for action for those exploring what thought is doing to our world. David Bohm and Jiddu Krishnamurti, amongst others, were adamant in proposing that thought never has and never will solve humanity’s problems. Their proposals deserve serious attention.
TKPI Is Not An Organization
We are:
TKPI Working Group Members
Matthew Capowski Director/Founder
Matthew’s education is in psychology and his work experience is with adults with developmental disabilities, youth crisis intervention, brain injury community support, and child protection.
Since a young age Matthew was dissatisfied with the status quo. However, until he came across the recorded words of David Bohm and Jiddu Krishnamurti he had great uncertainty about how to address the many grievances he observed.
Matthew hopes TKPI will foster a supportive and creative community that will be a living example of what is possible when thought is not distorting us.
Michael Pyska Community Development
Michael’s education is in Anthropology and his work experience is in community development and community based health projects working with First Nations (aboriginal) peoples, mental health outreach, addictions, and FASD. Michael currently works as a facilitator, counselor and public health consultant with specializations in youth outreach, aboriginal communities, street subculture, and acquired brain injury.
Michael’s interest in applying an integral approach to community development along with his significant knoweldge of integral philosophy and practice will be an asset to TKPI.
J.K. Smith Librarian
J.K. Smith has a background in both education and library and information sciences and is presently working as a librarian with a focus on information literacy. Her guidance and expertise will be useful for our numerous projects, and especially for our attempt to create a David Bohm archive.
