The Atrium Society is a nonprofit, nonsectarian and nonpolitical organization committed to peace education for children around the world. Founded in 1984, the Atrium Society focuses on the primary factors that lead to conflict – psychological conditioned thinking and action. Our minds are conditioned by origin of birth, education and experiences. The Atrium Society works to bring this issue of psychological conditioning, and the worldwide conflict it creates, to the forefront of our awareness.
The Atrium Society makes almost no reference to David Bohm or Jiddu Krishnamurti. Yet the main focus of their work is helping children understand their conditioning and to see how that conditioning is the very root of conflict. They have put in decades of work to create an extensive curriculum that is freely available. There are many, many PDF documents to download. This is the very thing that Jiddu Krishnamurti explicitly asked for -- that children be taught about their conditioning.
The Atrium Society was founded by Jean Webster-Doyle, APET, MAPTT who is a peace educator and former school operator. Terrence Webster-Doyle, Ph.D., AEPT, MAPTT has writter a large volume of material and curriculum about understanding conditioning and related subjects. The third Director, Marvin Garbeh Davis, MA, APET, is the peace educator for West Africa who has really brought the Atrium Society's curriculum to light in Liberia.
